Hi, I’m Emily Jankowski, a Licensed Master Social Worker and Life Coach. I specialize in helping clients begin the process of healing from various forms of trauma and managing life’s challenges. I understand that our relationship is important, and I strive to create a bond that includes honesty, trust, and compassion. I believe in walking alongside you as you begin your journey of healing and improving your quality of life.
I welcome the opportunity to work with adults, couples, and adolescents, struggling with a variety of concerns, which may include anxiety, depression, life transitions, trauma, relationship strain, and grief and loss. I am particularly passionate about using Mindfulness to help those dealing with stress and anxiety.
I am trained in EMDR therapy and use this to assist clients with beginning the process of healing from various forms of Trauma. I also use CBT and DBT informed methods in my work with adolescent and adult clients.
While recognizing that every client is unique, I offer a tailored approach that will offer hope and empowerment as you move forward in your life journey.
I graduated from University of Michigan with a Bachelor’s in Psychology and Master’s in Social Work. I began my career doing community outreach on an Assertive Community Treatment team in Washtenaw County. I worked with adults with severe and persistent mental health disorders battling various co-occurring issues including homelessness, addiction, and physical illness. I have since transitioned to focusing my work on outpatient individual, group, and couples counseling.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and my dog, Luna. I enjoy being active by running, playing volleyball, spike ball, and am an avid lover of all yard games.
